Readers' Reviews Sunday nights at Star Bar go off! There's 2 levels with several different areas to cater for all music tastes, as well as those that just wanna sit down and have a chat with friends and meet some new ones. To entice the poor designated driver into taking you and your mates along for the night, free parking is right next door, and there's plenty of it. Star Bar always have a good supply of hot promo girls walking around selling shots and taking pictures. Be careful if you're trying to save your money, they're so beautiful and friendly that you will spend all your money buying shots from them. Mark, Ivanhoe, 08/08

Readers' Reviews The Star Bar has been around for as long as I can remember and still seems to end up being the final destination in the well known Sunday-Session tradition of Geebung, Depot, Star Bar...no matter how hard you try to avoid it! It's a two story pub style venue - Sunday nights are by far the busiest and you need to arrive before 9pm to avoid the lengthy queues which never seem to move. It's worth checking out the solo acoustic singer who plays very early in the night, before the band who do the same old cover stuff week in week out. If it's love you're looking for, you won't find it here. There is however a strong chance you will find someone to pash in one of the dingy corners of the venue and maybe fall in love for a few hours that night! Some refer to the Star Bar as a bit of a 'meat market' which attracts the 18-25 year olds in abundance and I must say I'd have to agree. It can be a fun night every now and again - check it out, if you haven't before. Bel, St Kilda, 12/03
