Venuestar Review Noise Bar, with its old school pub vibe, includes a front bar, and back room featuring regular live music performances, with 'Noise TV' television program recording from time to time as well. Great acoustics and quirky, sharp decor, as well as a nice long bar up the back. Live Music Venue Live music features towards the end of the week. Tony Clarke Readers' Reviews I went on a Wednesday night and was extremely impressed. The bar has a jungle feel, with a huge world map across the bar, bamboo and a feature wall and lots of comfy couches. The music was perfect for the young crowd that was there - indie alternative with hip hop thrown into the mix. The beergarden was HUGE! Plenty of space and filled with real plants. I took advantage of their $8 jug special (surprisingly it was carlton draught) and had a gourmet plate of $5 nachos. Best wednesday night going. Definitely worth a visit. Sarah, Brunswick, 11/11 This place has always been a splendid place to relax at. As a matter of fact being an oldie of this establishment I have visited it for some 10 years with a book I have written. I can say the place has changed. The hotel itself has been revamped, now nice and clean and fresh. The beer garden is very pleasant to sit out on a very hot night and yes the setting at the Railway end is not too bad - you meet passers by and it becomes very interesting. The atmosphere is great. The bands, well each to their own. The sound was great though. The bar staff great. Have to say I miss the place terribly just wish it was open more often.

Readers' Reviews Noise Bar, the little bar that could, tucked out of the way down Albert just off Sydney road, the Noise is a fickle place pumping with 300+ people one day and nobody but bar tenders and bands the next.
The front bars look was revamped about a year ago into a sweet dingy Brunswick style lounge, feels like you're hanging out in a really cool share house, because all the furniture is from op shops.
The Bistro (Without Food) Bar out back is one of the best band rooms in Melbourne, kick ass sound systems and great acoustics and bands Thursday-Sunday, just no crowds to watch them.
The beer garden is huge and full of plants and feels great to hang out in on a warm summers night, there is a second beer garden at the doorstep of Brunswick station which is one of the best feature of the pub, but it is rarely opened, the second band room however well appointed has a bar that is rarely opened and an undeniable school hall atmosphere, the Noise like I said is fickle, half open, half closed, half cool, half uncomfortable and plain, could be the next big thing if the right people got a hold of it. Troy, Brunswick, 05/09 Built in 1890 during the land boom era this magnificent three story building houses the Noise Bar, the Noise TV production facilities, the Australian Musicians' Union offices and the Northern Access Television offices. The bar itself has that old timer feel about it featuring a spacious front bar with pool, pinballs and a big projector screen. The back bar features a stage with great acoustics and regular live acts. This back bar opens up to a small courtyard adjacent to the railway and a bigger beer garden situated between the main building and "The Venue" function room that also features a stage, a dance floor a smaller bar and plenty of space. The overall atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. The Noise Bar offers something for everyone because of its policy of supporting local art and culture both directly through performances (they've had bands, comedy, cabaret, poetry, dance parties, album launches etc.) as well as through the production of the Noise TV program. The Noise bar is constantly evolving so this is the one to watch out for and visit. Tom, Brunswick, 10/07
