Venuestar Review Tidy but approachable wine bar nestled down an alley next to Robot. Things here are a touch of white linen restaurant with a perfectly large bar area in the middle, keeping things quite informal.
Wine and of course more wine is on the Deanery's menu. The special twist, though, is the ability to store one's wine in the Deanery's dedicated wine cellars. With its late trading hours, your private reserve can be much more accessible than a simple 9 to 5 style facility. Pay the corkage and you get to whip out the bottle there and then, too. Enough cheese platters and the like are available to compliment.
As to be expected, the Deanery can get busy with the corporate crowd during peak times, resulting in a slight shift towards the beer angle. Friday nights are often packed to the rafters, and on warm evenings the crowd will spill out onto the laneway and mingle with Robot's patrons. Simon Woodhouse
