Venuestar Review This quaint little bar and cafe is nestled in busy Sydney Road, right near Barkly Square's Macdonalds and Red Rooster (just in case you get peckish after your drink).
We finally squeezed into Mule after a couple of visits on earlier occasions when it was shut. You have to be a bit 'in the know' about Mule's goings-on, because when we finally succeeded the place was packed to its (rather small) brim and people were enjoying a spot of live music. The two-person 'suburban folk' act was visible from the outside, as the window area was the makeshift stage.
We were told functions and performances on Friday evenings are common. Mule Bar opens until late evening on Fridays and Saturdays, and closes at 6pm on other nights. Keep your ear to the ground with this one because it seems rather interesting! Julie Whiting

Readers' Reviews I was meeting two friends the other day that I had not seen in eons. We all met on the corner of Weston st and Sydney road. We found Mule bar nearby. It was the perfect place. Small, intimate, friendly staff, not too loud music in the background. They had a stack of different games to play. It made for a very fun night! Harry, Brunswick, 11/09
