Venuestar Review Probably the most well known Irish Bar in the CBD, Bridies conveniently serves the city crowd both at lunchtimes and evenings. Exhibiting the usual Irish liveliness, whilst still being cosy, it's a handy meeting place for a drink with mates, and it's also one of the few places you can potentially have a drink on your own and still feel comfortable. There's an upstairs level, too, mainly used for meals.
But boy does it get busy. Several levels still don't seem enough, and that's just at lunchtimes! Did we mention that the pub spills onto the whole street and underground car park next door on St. Patrick's Day?
Our tip: The mezzanine table is the perfect group spot.
Live Music Venue Live music is on the cards towards the end of the week. Simon Woodhouse

Readers' Reviews I was a little surprised, walking through the entrance at how small the bottom level was, after having heard so much about this place. Definitely a friendly atmosphere, the clientele were mostly in their 30s but there's no reason to feel intimidated or out of place if you're younger; my mates and I are 18 and we had a good laugh with the lads. Fantastic performance by a live duet, pints $7, dress is relaxed - a good joint for sinking a few with mates. James, Werribee, 10/06
