Venuestar Review Pause for a moment and step inside this north African style oasis situated on a hectic stretch of Carlisle Street. Pause is a quaint, dimly lit and extremely comfortable bar. Chilled music plays in the background, and, with some brilliant interior decoration, a very laid-back and "with it" late 20s plus crowd, you soon find yourself drifting away into a blissful oasis ... until you need to negotiate the unnervingly high staircase that leads you to the amenities. Pause is well worth the time to spend a moment catching up over a quiet drink or to gear yourself up for something else.
P.S. The martinis are to die for, if that's your thing. Lush Green Second Opinion A great place to slow down and unwind, Pause hits the spot. Sit at the communal table or in the intimate space under the stairs and enjoy exotic decor and delectable cocktails. Julie Whiting

Readers' Reviews A must see place for any visitor to Melbourne! Their Fataya is devine! We made 2 trips to Pause during our 5 days stay and both times had to say the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Its a dimly lit, cafe style bar, with cozy corners for that romantic touch and open seating for the group gathering. Pause has musicians in from time to time as well (such as Mandy Kane) which add to the charm of the place. Mel, Geraldton WA, 04/07
