Readers' Reviews Being that I'm a local who's lived in and around the area all my life, but never really been a fan of the local pubs, I now find myself in a position where I finally can say it looks like we have a winner!
Living out in this neck of the woods, and woods is not far from the truth, there has always been a definite lack of venues offering decent entertainment, atmosphere and talent. Over recent months, the management of this pub have lined up bands from Thursdays through to Saturday nights, along with a great acoustic trio for the traditional Sunday session.
Not only has this improved the numbers in the bar, but the venue itself is undergoing some fairly major renovations. By far the best improvement is the huge beer garden built on a decking adjoined to the main bar. Prior to this extension, I've spent many afternoons trying to secure myself a table out there with no success but soon this will be a thing of the past!
So, here's hoping it lives up to my expectations, therefore cutting down the costs of taxis to and from the usual destinations in and around the Port Melbourne area... Tempy Bar, thank you for finally setting the standard!!! Brodie, Templestowe, 10/04
