Venuestar Review Massive corner pub that throws in a public bar, pool area, TAB and even dining room. Impressive is that the Rising Sun is the place for pool around this part of Richmond, with the tables going off all times of the day. The feel in the front is often quite grungy and dark with a touch of neon. The TAB does its crowd as always, however get to the dining room and you wouldn't feel too far removed from an Irish pub or other homey and cosy establishment. Lunchtimes do well here, including the ever popular Friday lunch. Outdoor Area / Beer Garden Rooftop beer garden with retractable roof, plasma and heaters - lovely. Mark Davies

Readers' Reviews The Rising Sun is the perfect pub to catch up with mates. Always has a good crowd without being too packed or loud. Jukebox is always a laugh later in the night but. Nice u-shaped bar separates the pool tables from the service tables and couches. With footy, a good sized TAB (with customer service), pool tables and good honest food you can easily spend a quiet day and slightly rowdier night at the Riser (till close when the Swan comes in handy).
