Venuestar Review Potentially one of the forerunners to see High Street transform into a cafe/bar/shopping strip of Brunswick Street proportions, Kelvin arrived in 1998 to a welcoming patronage. The spacious, purple-bricked venue attracts a hip crowd which enjoys the cool atmosphere and well trained bar staff. The cocktail menu is comprehensive and you'd be hard up getting a martini as good anywhere else in the area. Nice wines, bar snacks and coffee are also available, and there are even board games for the bored.
Enjoy the lush bar stools and comfy couches when they are available, which may not always be the case. Pre or post diners and cinema goers (The Westgarth - formerly known as the Valhalla is across the road), come and go, and many patrons come, and just don't go.
Our tip: the Vespa out the front acts as an 'open' sign. Julie Whiting
