Venuestar Review This grand old bluestone pub harks back to 1854 and shows no sign of slowing down, with renovations tactfully highlighting some period features and modernising others.
The front bar is more old-style - fashioned out of wood and hiding behind leadlight windows, while the three fireplaces that beckon in winter also hint of yesteryear. Meanwhile beige walls, downlights and some funky lamps give The Darling a modern edge.
Propping in the glass-ceilinged atrium is a novelty, with all the benefits of being outside without the wind and flies. Julie Whiting Second Opinion Named after the heroine Grace Darling who together with her father rescued nine people from a shipwreck out at sea, the Grace Darling is a rustic mix of wooden bar and floorboard, frosted glass and cosy seating.
