Venuestar Review Late (as in dawn late) opening bar that traditionally opened many moons ago for the casino staff to have their post-work drinks, but now welcomes all. It's an extremely casual and relaxed social vibe, held together by a hard working bar team that have probably seen it all in their day. It's not a massive place by any stretch of the imagination, and the rectangular bar works great for chatting to your neighbour should you be perched at one of the corners. Simon Woodhouse

Readers' Reviews Industry known to the locals as pit 5 is a cosy hole in the wall in South bank hidden away behind the crown casino. The perfect blend of a bar and night club with great live music and djs on the weekends. Its the kind of place you would love to make your regular drinking destination. Open 8pm till 7am! Its one of the few great late night places in Melbourne. Originally opened for hospitality staff to have a drink when they knock off at all hours it now has a rich clientelle of anyone and everyone from musicians and backpackers to business men and anyone in between looking for a good time. The staff are young, attractive, fun and friendly and make you feel like a regular as soon as you walk in the door and all have a great knowledge of spirits and shots. Its not the biggest venue but makes up for it with an awesome vibe and great prices (cheaper than most venues) and no entry fee! It has a good size dance floor featuring two strip pols that are a lot of fun, pool table and poker table. Its cosy and dark, everything you want in the wee hours of you night out.
