Venuestar Review In the 90s it used to be Santa Fe Gold, then it was Red Ant for a while, now it's back to it's grass roots, going back to the old name that it had between 1889 and 1907: The Portland Hotel.
The Portland Hotel houses a micro-brewery (The James Squire Brewhouse), a restaurant (Portland Lane) and upstairs a functions venue.
The re-opening of this superbly located inner-city pub is a good thing. The interior is spacious and inviting with wooden floorboards, huge windows to watch the passers by and comfy leather seats.
It's a formal pub aimed towards after-work city drinkers and trendy Little Collins Street shoppers needing a fix.
Look out for the Portland Hotel Nightclub which features regular Comedy nights and live music. Lush Green
