Venuestar Review An old school city pub, the Central Club Hotel opens during the day only, and caters well for those that might want to stay behind for a beer while the other half goes for a spree at the nearby Queen Victoria Market. The Central Club Hotel boasts TAB facilities, a pool table, and a large, separate bistro area which is open for lunch and offers extremely cheap meals. Tony Clarke Readers' Reviews What this place is like is it is "like-able". To my friends, I would say, it feels like visiting something in the past, it is cosy, dim inside, bright outside. The clientele are like characters out of an Australian version of The Simpsons. There is nothing that makes it different to everywhere else, except that it is bang straight acroos the road from Queen Victoria market and the whole place derives its attributes from a royalist zwing. This place is so cool, reserved and haute that it instantly bagged the prize for becoming the hottest, most sought after venue in town- it is now the first official venue for a celebration of International Nurses Day on 19 May 2011, with more than 10 bookings already in place. So congratulations! Julie, Melbourne, 11/10

Readers' Reviews A brilliant traditional Melbourne pub, looking out over the always buzzing Queen Victoria market. A friendly local crowd always welcome new patrons and the bar staff keep customers happy with sensational service at all times! The beer on tap is without a doubt Melbourne's finest - always fresh and ice cold! The Central also boasts a fantastic menu with the best pub meals in town! Jake, Melbourne, 04/06 One of the first pubs I visited in Melbourne. Early opener, beer is always on good form and the tucker's excellent. Cosy pub full of character and characters just across the road from Vic Market. Perfect for a beer after shopping. Friendly bar staff, too. Fat Dog, Manchester, UK, 05/04
