Venuestar Review Tropical-themed cocktail Lounge, with retro vinyl furniture, a laid-back ambience from the forgotten "Tiki" era. Sip the fabulous and famous Tiki cocktails in their original and unadulterated form whilst enjoying late night professional cabaret performances selected from some of the best acts of the professional circuit. Awash with the "forbidden sounds" of 1950s Polynesian pop lounge music, Tiki's an odd creature that has its roots from being an Argentinian Tango school. Dance classes are still active during the week, apparently. Simon Woodhouse

Readers' Reviews Tiki is a funny little place. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Richmond clubs, bars and pubs and is mainly recognisable by a flashing sign saying 'cocktails'. You walk up the stairs and you may feel a little frightened of what's to come. You walk through a curtain and you enter a piece of somewhat tacky but wonderful paradise. From my observation most people who walk in who haven't been there before have a smile on their face. The bar is stocked with unusually pleasant spirits and their cocktails are intriguingly tasty and authentic. The bar seems to be overstaffed, though it's hard to tell who is working and who is there for a night out! It's great though, the people are friendly and accommodating. They have event nights too which are brilliant. Check out their website for upcoming events. When events aren't on the bar is pretty quiet which I don't mind. The music really needs some work, it's too quiet and it seems to be the same CD repeated over and over. Really not very inspiring unfortunately. Would love for them to give some more thought to music choices as I would surely go more often! Give it a go if you feel like a quiet cocktail and you want to try something new. Bring a big group for an occasion and it'll feel like you've hired out the venue! Hehe. Mary, Richmond, 02/09
