Readers' Reviews I was going to Victoria Gardens shopping centre to watch a movie and I was pleasantly surprised to find a sweet spot called Kingpin. Kingpin is opposite the cinemas and above the food court. Now, Kingpin is not technically a pub. It is (or so one of the staff told me) a bowling lounge, sports bar, cocktail bar, and games venue. They have a big sports bar down one end with a 10-foot screen, pool tables interactive games (Daytona etc), PlayStations that you can play and large comfortable couches. They put on a great uni night. You'll even find a live music down there on weekend evenings.
On the other side there is the bowling. This is not your typical bowling however. Gone are the days of plastic seats and having to score yourself. Kingpin has large comfy couches and a fully automated system. They play brand new music with crazy neon lights and best of all you can drink while you bowl, which is no help to my score.
I recommend this venue for a night out with friends. They do corporate functions (try and beat your boss at a bowl), birthday parties, hens nights etc. It's something different and a heap of fun. Drop in and have a look. Reece McCann, Richmond, 04/04
