Venuestar Review After wandering past restaurant after restaurant, we were pleased to finally find a place where someone was trying to drag us in for the spaghetti carbonara. Aaah - a bar!
The Carlton Yacht Club is not of the moody dark, candlelit variety - instead it's small, neat, and tastefully decorated with warm tones. It's a good place for a natter and a glass of red. Julie Whiting

Readers' Reviews CYC was my favorite place to lounge with friends and sip cocktails. There's so many drink choices, and most of them are very good. My favorites include the Long Beach Iced Tea, Mint Chocolate Hormone Replacement Therapy, and Irish Coffee. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, although in the later part of the week it can get quite crowded. Lots of people go there after dinner on Lygon Street; sometimes there are couples, uni students, tourists, and locals, but the bar's atmosphere welcomes them all. The venue is not that big, so I like going on Sunday and Monday evenings, especially when the bartenders are super friendly and very personable. You never feel rushed to leave by the staff even though sometimes your college budget only allows you to buy one or two drinks a night. My only complaint is that I wish they were open early in the afternoon. Kathryn, Parkville, 09/05
